I would like to say thank you very much for meeting with me and Dave last week to analyze my swimming technique. Over the last 2 years my swim time has improved with Masters & Open Water swimming and Tri events. For me the time I was putting in at the pool and open water would further reduce my swim times and I would keep improving, not so, and it has left me a little disappointed as I would see swimming as my weakest link in the triathlon events. I’m was never a strong swimmer from my youth playing mainly team sports but triathlon gave me a new focus and improve my health. I have over the last 6 years moved from Duathlons to Sprint, Olympic Distance and over the last 2 years Half Distance. As I have become stronger in each section of my training with GoTri TC, I achieved my best finish last year as 3rd in Age Category at Half Distance National Championship race ‘ The Lost Sheep’ in Ireland. But Still not happy with my swim time... So, This year I decided IM Barcelona is my new challenge, I set about what I needed to do on the Bike and Run but my swim technique I wanted to improve. I came to Lanzarote to work with a Fitness and Tri Coach Dave Sheehan in Playa Blanca and Dave introduced me to you. Not knowing who you were or your background but going on Dave’s advice that you were very well respected in Lanzarote and for Triathlon and Coaching. So nothing to lose. To say I was impressed is an understatement. The 3 sessions we had and the analysis of my swim technique has given me a new start.. almost …in my swimming approach. I now can see my weakness, I have a plan to address these and have time before the Big Race to improve my swim ability and technique. All was not bad with my technique and Fran gave me a lot of positive feedback. You went through each part of my swim technique and showed me simple things to work on. Fran was very open to answering questions, suggestions, tips and hints not just about swimming but Triathlon overall. I have 5 months to Barcelona and my swim time I expected would have been 1hr16 to 1hr20 – I now believe I will get this time lower. I can’t wait to come back in July to meet Fran again and hopefully show him the improvements. Thank you once again
