In 2003 my family and I re located to Lanzarote, looking across to Fuertevetura I wondered if it would be possible to swim from one Island to another. Not really knowing the distance I guessed it might be 2 - 3 km, I was suprised to find it was actually 15 km and that every year they have a swimming event to do this. Having never swam such a distance I realised if I was to acheive my goal I would need some professional advice.

After making enquiries I was advised I should talk to Fran who had experience in long distance swimming. I knew if I was to do the swim he would be the man to guide me. Fran set out a proper and professional training programme both for swimming and nutrition which would last for 5 months. Although the training was hard and on a few occassions I could have easily given up, Fran kept me motivated by always being available and encouraging me that I could do it. I entered the water on a dark Saturday morning, October 2006 to start the journey and I finished 6 hours 20 minutes later. Fran was one of the first people to congratulate me and I have now entered the competion every year since, but without Fran I might still be sat on the beach in Playa Blanca, wondering. I would not hesitate in recommending Fran to anyone who needs professional and nutrional advice.
